Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to present experimental and theoretical data of their Bachelor Thesis to an scientific audience as well as give feedback to others and to critically discuss the presentation regarding content and presentation techniques.

Subject of course

Conceptualizing and giving scientific presenttions:

strategic development of a presentation (target audience , content, ...)
how to handle presentation media (fonts, color, style, ...)
basics on rhetoric and communication (speech dynamics, voice, gestures, u.v.a.m.)

Discussion of content and secondary skills:

how to handle questions from the audience
How to give Feedback
How to take Feedback

Teaching methods

Communicating theoretical foundations in two seminar units on the basis of slides with critical discussion within the group:

Part: Conception of a lecture
Part: Holding a lecture

20 minute talk about the Bachelor Thesis
Feedback on a lecture
Video recording for own use and as an example for others (access only for seminar participants)

It is highly advised to visit the seminar already during the 5th semester
All dates are arranged on the first day of the semester. If you want to give a lecture during the semster one has to be present.
