After successful completion of the course, students are able to
- present the experimental and theoretical results of their Bachelor's thesis to a scientific audience,
- critically discuss the content and presentation technique of other students' presentations.
- conceptualize a bachelor thesis and use sources correctly (plagiarism)
The seminar is intended to prepare students for the English-language Master's program in Technical Chemistry, therefore the seminar is held in English.
General introduction to writing a scientific paper (details must be discussed with the supervisor of the Bachelor's thesis):
- Conceptualization of the scientific work
- Possible variants for the structure of the thesis
- Dealing with citations and references
- Labeling of tables and graphics
Designing and giving scientific presentations:
- Strategies for developing presentations (target audience, structure, etc.)
- Dealing with the presentation medium (font, color, form, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of rhetoric and communication (language, voice, gestures, etc.)
Discussion of content and secondary skills:
- Dealing with questions from the audience
- How do I give feedback?
- How do I accept feedback?
