Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to name bioanalytical instrumentation, to describe their field of application, to give examples from the field of Biomedical Engineering, to categorise biochromatographic separation techniques as well as to contrast on- and off-line mass spectrometric techniques.

Subject of course

Parameters characterizing analytical instruments. Biochromatographic separation techniques (efficency and selectivity, affinity, HIC, ion exchange, size exclusion, reverse phase chromatography, multidimensional combinations, detectors), Electrophoretic separation techniques. Enzymatic analytical techniques. Immunoanalytical techniques. On- and off-line mass spectrometric techniques.
