After successful completion of the course, students are able to summarise basics of electrochemical systems (thermodynamics and kinetics), to categorise systems for electrochemical energy conversion, particularly fuel cells, electrolysis cells and different batteries, to evaluate their properties.
- Introduction into thermodynamics of electrochemical cells
- Fuel cells in the context of other electrochemical energy systems (batteries)
- Introduction into kinetics of fuel cells (polarization, curent-voltage relation)
- Materials in fuel cells and batteries
Lecture, primarily written onto the blackboard, taught in German
Written exam (2 hours), dates: typically once per month
Open book exams in TUWEL (only computer required) as long as online exams are mandatory.
