Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • name the basic safety aspects for working in a chemical laboratory;
  • identify possible sources of danger in a laboratory and to take the necessary safety precautions;
  • list the basic work steps and the basic components for working in a chemical laboratory

Subject of course

Introduction into the theoretical background and the safety aspects of working in a chemical Laboratory as well as guidance for the following procedures in the fundamental chemistry lab.

Examination modalities

Minimum presence: 80%

1 colloquia, lasting 60 minutes and consisting of 10 tasks. These tasks consist of:
• 10 questions randomly distributed over the subject areas of the seminar

A total of 100 points are awarded for a colloquium; 100-89 points correspond to a “very good”, 88-76 points to a “good”, 75-62 points to a “satisfactory”, 62-50 points to a “sufficient” and less than 50 points to a “not sufficient”.
