Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to apply concepts of metal catalysis, can identify important organometallic transformations (e.g. cross-coupling, C-H activation, etc.) and have an understanding of how to elucidate a reaction mechanism.

In the area of biocatalysis, students know important enzyme classes, the transformations they enable, and reaction parameters which are of specific importance in biocatalytic reactions.

In the area of organocatalysis, students know important classes of organocatalysts and the transformations they enable. They can also follow the principles of rational organocatalyst design.
