Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand essential aspects of the synthesis of polymers by polymerisation, polycondensates and polyadducts. Both chemical and technological aspects are in the foreground

Subject of course

Synthesis and structure of polymers prepared by polymerization, polycondensation and polyaddition. A special focus is given to radical and ionic initiation and polymerization. Polymerization processes in bulk, solution, emulsion and suspension are discussed. Chemistry of important bulk polymers and engineering plastics, composit materials and low molecular materials. Synthesis of copolymers and graft-copolymers, polymer modification and standard techniques of polymer processing.

Theory and practical examples of chemical and technological aspects of the synthesis of polymers by polymerisation, polycondensates and polyadducts
