After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand simple inorganic chemical processes, and to know basic properties of the elements or derive them from their position in the periodic table
Based on a systematic distinction of non-metals and metals, or main group elements and transition metal elements important properties of the elements and their compounds are given. Experiments and a connection to our everyday s experience with such compounds are an integral part of the lecture.
