After successful completion of the course, students are able to describe, compare and apply the basic mechanical process operations (e.g. particle size characterization, crushing, solid mixing, stirring, classifying, agglomeration and separation techniques).
Basics of mechanical process engineering: Characterization of disperse material systems (particle size distribution), particle size measurement, sampling methods, properties of porous systems, characterization of mixed systems, characterization of separation processes.Description of the most important processes in mechanical process engineering: Crushing, mixing, agglomeration, filtration centrifugation, sedimentation, classifying, sorting.
Written exam (duration: approx. 180 min): 10 questions (the selection of the questions is accompanied by a selection that each topic is queried in the exam) by questionnaire (TISS, SS2021), 5 points per question; Clef for the written exam: 0-25 points: N5; 26-31 points: G4; 32-37 points: B3; 38-43 points: U2; 44-50 points: S1.

Oral examination (duration: approx. 45 min): 3 questions (see above) according to the current questionnaire (TISS)
Assessment criteria for the oral exam: Understanding, outline sketches, technical terms, formula knowledge, thematic completeness.
