After successful completion of the course, students are able to......describe fundamental thermodynamic relationships,...describe the basics of kinetic gas theory,...formulate simple reaction rate laws for chemical reactions and derive the corresponding time laws,...formulate simple transport laws...and know basic electrochemical relationships.
Basics of physical chemistry:
Reverse-Classroom-Lecture given in German: The corresponding parts of the script are first uploaded to TUWEL and the learning material is prepared independently by the students in the previous week. The lecture then takes place on Mondays in attendance, in which the two lecturers (Kubicek / Opitz) present the learning material in a summarized form, with focus on addressing questions / ambiguities / discussion points that arose for students while preparing the material. Active student participation is important and expressly encouraged. The lecture in attendance will be streamed live on TUWEL via Lecture Tube.. Additionally, the recordings of last year's lecture are accessible there.
Lecture starts: Mo 10.10.2022, 10:00 c.t. GM3 Vortmann HS.
Note on the dates:10.10. - 24.10.2022 Kinetik (Opitz)31.10.2022 keine VO/Reservetag07.11. - 12.12. 2022 Thermodynamik (Kubicek)19.12.2022 keine VO/Reservetag09.01. - 23.01.2023 Elektrochemie (Opitz)
The written exam of the VO will be held together with the UE-exam until 14.01.22 (WS2020 and before). For all later dates, two separate exams are offered for VO and UE.
The written examinations currently take place in presence. The exam paper consists of 10 questions that have to be answered without the help of any supporting documents. If online exams become necessary again due to a worsening of the incidence of infections, they will take place as Open Book Exams. In this case, the exam sheet will be a PDF form - we therefore recommend answering the questions on a PC with a PDF reader that supports saving form entries (e.g. Adobe Reader, please test other PDF readers beforehand to see if they save entries correctly). Alternatively, you can print, fill in manually, scan and upload.
