After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand and apply techniques from quantum information science to the foundation of thermodynamics. Furthermore, students should be able to read and understand contemporary literature in quantum thermodynamics.
The quantum mechanical origin of the laws of thermodynamics and an overview of the different subfields of quantum thermodynamics.
