Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to compute scatter cross sections and decay widths for gauge theories, have basic knowledge of the Standard model of particle physics including the electroweak and quantum chromodynmics. They will also have an introduction to the shortcomings of the Standard Model of particle physics and possible avenues for beyond the Standard Model theory landscapes.

Subject of course

  1. Introduction to non-Abelian  groups
  2. Introduction to gauge theories
  3. The Glashow-Salam-Weinberg Model
  4. Quantum Chromodynamics
  5. Glimpses of beyong the Stadard Model
