After successful completion of the course, students are able to perform experiments around a research reactor in the fields of neutron flux, reactivity and reactor period as well as to explain the origin of Xenon poisoning and to describe reactivity effects.
Totally 12 experiments are carried out in groups of maximal 4 students:
During the laboratory tutorial students operate experiments (activation of foils, measurements of radioactive samples,…) and furthermore calculate the results based on tables.
Registration: 08.10.2019, 2pm st in the lecture hall of the Atominstitut, personal registration necessary, applicants who attended Reaktorphysik 1, Nuclear Engineering 1 or Reaktortechnik 2 will be prefered.
Written Test at the end of the practical course. The students cooperation, the written protocol and a final, written test will be evaluated for the overall result.
