Aim of course

Raising awareness of students for selective topics of physics in socio-economical context. Ethical interpretation of natural science and technical applications.

Subject of course

Students will be concerned with socio-politically and ethical questions, caused by applications of research and development.

These are e.g.: what is the consequence of ionising radiation to the environment? How natural is radioactivity? What has the variety of butterflies in common with physics? How can we learn from nature in order to solve prospective problems? What kind of additional support would Marie Curie, Lise Meitner and Marietta Blau needed to emphasize their excellence?
