2022S, PR, 8.0h, 10.0EC, to be held in blocked form

Properties

  • Semester hours: 8.0
  • Credits: 10.0
  • Type: PR Project
  • Format: Online

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

  • to understand limited metrological questions and work out results experimentally, theoretically or by simulations or literatur research
  • to be familiar with measuring devices
  • to perform measurements and calculations correctly
  • to evaluate data
  • to prepare data graphically
  • to interpret the results
  • to find connections between literature and obtained data
  • to summarize in a report.

Subject of course

Implementation of comprehensive experimental and/or theoretical work including project conception, work plan and schedule, experimental and/or theoretical work, documentation and presentation

Acquisition of basic physical phenomena and innovative experimental and/or theoretical techniques and methods in metrological sections - time and frequency, dimensonal metrology, radioactivity, dosimetry, acustics, vibration, pressure, force, hardness, flow, electricity, gravimetry, mass, density, viscosity, traffic measurements, photometry, temperatur and heat

Teaching methods

Literatur research and/or optional simulations and/or measurements with metrological facilities. Actual measurements in the field of dosimetry, radioactivity and other metrological sectors. Eventually elaboration of a written report.

Mode of examination

Written

Additional information

The project will be carried out in cooperation with the Federal Office of Meterology and Surveying - the Austrian National Metrology Insitute.
