Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • to give a historical overview of particle accelerators
  • to introduce the basic concepts of the existing and relevant types of accelerators
  • to explain main characteristics of particle accelerators in detail and comment on specifications
  • to classify dominant properties
  • to characterise main acclerator centers and explain their main research fields
  • to be familiar with terminology and applications
