Aim of course

Effects of cosmic rays on humans and matter, applied measurement devices and techniques, basic principles of microdosimetry (essential in radiobiology), determination and assessment of radiological effects in mixed radiation fields.

Subject of course

Development of human spaceflight, galactic and solar cosmic rays, heavy charged particles, interplanetary magnetic field, earth radiation belts. Interaction of primary cosmic rays with matter, radiobiological effects, effects on materials. Determination of absorbed dose and LET in space. Microdosimetry.
