Properties

  • Semester hours: 2.0
  • Credits: 3.0
  • Type: VO Lecture

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to categorise different non ionizing radiations, to explain their physical fundaments and to describe the health-effects including long-term effects. In addition, popular discussed topics like water veins, disturbance zones, etc. will be critically discussed.

Subject of course

Discussion of biological effects and dose limits of: optical radiation, uv, laser, high frequency and low frequency electromagnetic fields, static electric and magnetic fields

Teaching methods

Lecture supported by slides and a communicated script on the overhead projector; the critical consideration is a major aspect of the lecture

Mode of examination

Oral
