After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

  • to give a historical overview
  • to describe radioactive sources, X-ray tubes, particle accelerator and nuclear reactors and discuss their functions
  • to explain interactions of ionising radiation with matter eg. energy dependence
  • to discuss in detail basic dosimetry wording, various radiation measuring devices as detectors, counters...
  • to describe special methods of dosimetry as TLD
  • to describe fundamentals of synchrotron radiation, radiation physical analytics and their appilications in detail
  • to discuss application in medical physics including special methods of therapie using accelerated  particles
  • to give an overview of fundamental nuclear reactor types, their function as well as reactor accidents
