Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the following archaeometrical methods, including inherent limitations, applications and dating range:

radiocarbon dating
archaeological chronology
dendrochronology
thermoluminescence dating
provenancing
dating with radioactive decay
nuclear track dating
archaeomagnetism
ESR

Subject of course

Aspects of archaeological chronologies; dendrology; radiocarbon dating; luminescence dating; potassium-argon dating; lead-white dating; nuclear track dating; archaeomagnetism; electron spin resonance, provenancing.

Teaching methods
