  • name accelerator types, their applications and relevant research centers,
  • describe essential properties of transverse and longitudinal particle motion,
  • explain the impact field errors, nonlinearities, collective effects and synchrotron radiation on the beam motion,
  • discuss different methods of beam manipulation,
  • choose appropriate computational, simulation and measurement methods for a problem,
  • to know and discuss the challenges of future particle accelerators.
