Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to categorise different interferometers, to describe their installation, to define topological and geometrical phases as well as to explain the Kochen-Specker paradox.

Subject of course

Foundation of x-ray and neutron interferometer experiments, Larmor interferomter (polarimeter), topological phase, Aharanov-Bohm/Casher effect, geometric phase (Berry phase), Bell's inequality, Kochen-Specker paradox, contextuality

Teaching methods

Lecture with digital presentations to visualise physical laws and the installation of equipment. The lecture‘s script should help to repeat and deepen the matter.
