Understanding principles of medical imaging modalities using ionizing radiation, underlaying technologies (and some physics), patient dosimetry and image processing applied in digital diagnostic medical imaging.
Principles of medical imaging physics and instrumentation, x-ray imaging physics, radiation dose to the patient, radiation detriment and effective dose. Imaging modalities including film-screen systems, digital radiography like flat panel detectors and storage phosphor. Dosmetry and radiation risk in diagnostic applications. Principles of medical image processing. Principles of Nuclear Medicine (if time left)
Held at Vienna Medical University, Währinger Gürtel 18-20, level 4; lecture room of the Center for Medical Physics & Biomedical Engineering. Monday March 4, 11, 18, and 25. April 1, 8, and 29, from 14.00 to 17.15 (with a break from 15.30-15.45).
