After successful completion of the course, students are able to explicate the crystal structure of solid bodies, to describe diffraction on periodic structures, to categorise the methods of crystal sturcture identification and to interpret phase diagrams as well as electric, thermal, mechanic and magnetic properties.
1.) Crystal structures a) transaltional lattices, point symmetries b) crystal classes c) symmetry d) simple structures, binding in solids e) defects 2.) Diffraction and structure determination a) diffraction on periodic structures b) methods of strucutural analyses 3.) Multinary systems a) preparation b) phase diagrams 4.) Macroscopic properties of solids and interfaces a) metals, semiconductors and isolators b) elastic properties c) thermal properties d) magnetic properties e) dielectric properties
Lecture with visual, digital support, where the subjects are explained and phase diagrams are discussed.
An introductory lecture is given on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, 12:15 p.m.. Aspects like examinations, skripts, etc. will be discussed, too.
All regular lectures are given on subsequent Wednesdays, 12:15 p.m..
The assessment of performance is made on the basis of a written examination (about 5 questions, 90 minutes).
ATTENTION:
A non-deregistration for the exam or an unexcused absence will result in an "exam suspension for absent students" according to the statutes of the TU.
