Simple physical problems shall be recognized and solved (i.e. be computed) using the learned methods. Furthermore, the module introduces physical effects that are the basis of several phyical-chemical measurement methods. Using this knowledge, students will be able in later modules to better understand experimental methods and analyze respective results.
We roughly follow "Physik für Bachelors", J. Rybach, Hanser Verlag
Some fields, as for example relativity are oriented more at "Physics for Scientists & Engineers with modern Physics", D.C. Giancoli, Pearson International. The latter book is rather comprehensive and suited very well as a reference with many exercises related to practical problems.
Note on preparing for an exam: Please use the updated and corrected materials of this year's course!
