After successful completion of the course, students are able to comprehend the materials presented in the lecture and to draw conclusions from them, as well as to actively communicate the contents presented during the lecture.
Motivation, Materials in the focus of present research, Landau theory of Fermi liquids, Concept of quasi particles, Elementary excitations (phonon, soliton, magnon, paramagnon, spinon, holon, etc.), Interactions (electron-phonon, electron-spin, electron-photon), Modern methods in solid state physics - calculation of the electronic structure.
Frontal lecture
The lecture is held in FHHS 6, wednesdays, 2.00 to 3.30 p.m. , lecture notes are available (dowload from TISS or as a soft cover version at the TU Verlag). In the fall term 2019/20, the lecture starts on October 9.
