Providing a basic understanding for the description of elementary excitations and interactions in solids.
Motivation, Materials in the focus of present research, Landau theory of Fermi liquids, Concept of quasi particles, Elementary excitations (phonon, soliton, magnon, paramagnon, spinon, holon, etc.), Interactions (electron-phonon, electron-spin, electron-photon), Modern methods in solid state physics - calculation of the electronic structure.
The lecture is held in FHHS 6, wednesday, 2.00 to 3.30 p.m. , lecture notes are available (dowload from TISS or as a soft cover version at the TU Verlag). In the fall term 2018/19, the lecture starts on October 3.
