After successful completion of the course, students are able to read current literature on 2D materials, and have an overview over ongoing research projects at the faculties of Technical Chemistry, Electrical Engineering and Physics of TU Wien. Projects include synthesis, simulation, characterization and application of 2D materials.
2D Materials: 2D Materialien: nanoelectronics with 2D materials, simulating large-scale devices and sensors, photocatalysis using 2D materials, 2D sensors for gas molecules, scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy of 2D materials, XPS and IR spectroscopy, optical properties
Seminar talks by the PhD students of TU-D, as well as international invited speakers. Discussions following the seminar.
For a grade, a seminar talk has to be prepared and given.
Not necessary
Students should have a gasp of the elementary concepts of solid state physics, quantum mechanics and electrodynamics
