Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to explain fundamental aspects of the standard modell of cosmology and to assess consequences of physics in and beyond the standard model of particle physics

Standard model of cosmology: Friedmann-Robertson-Walker metric, dynamics, thermal history of the universe, nucleosynthesis, dark matter, dark energy, inflationary universe, structure formation

Previous knowledge

The course will be mostly self-contained. However, for some parts of the course basic knowledge of general relativity, quantum field theory and thermodynamics will be helpful but is not necessary.
