Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to classify current journal articles in theoretical quantum dynamics, to understand their basic concepts, and to introduce themselves to new articles.

Subject of course

(Quantum) Physics:

  • on the nanoscale (new materials, Graphene, Quantum chaos)

  • on ultrashort time scales (atoms, molecules, and solids in extremely short laser pulses)

  • at ultracold temperatures (matter waves, Bose-Einstein condensates, atoms in optical lattices)

More details about those topics can be found on our homepage!

Additional information

First meeting: Thursday October 14th 2021, 4 pm, zoom https://tuwien.zoom.us/j/7935134827

How it works: each week 1 publication will be covered which should have been read by everyone. After a short informal presentation by one student there will be a group discussion.

Theoretical as well as experimental articles will be covered.

Please consider the plagiarism guidelines of TU Wien when writing your seminar paper: Directive concerning the handling of plagiarism (PDF)
