Subject of course

  • Cell culture basics (laboratory setup, equipment, aseptic technique, contamination, safety aspects)
  • Commonly used cell lines (adherent and suspension cell lines), primary cell culture
  • Commonly used cell culture media and supplements
  • Basic cell culture techniques (cryopreservation of cells, microscopic evaluation of confluence and morphology, cell counting)
  • Transfection and selection, cell line differentiation, characterization of cells
  • 3D cell culture, spheroids
  • Metabolic activity assays
