Aim of course

The students will become familiar with the fundamentals and with important applications of ultrasound.

Subject of course

SONAR orientation sense of bat and dolphin; importance of SONAR for the U-Boot localisation in world war II; Ultrasound non-destructive material testing; Sono-luminiscence; Ultrasonic separation of suspended particles: Highlights of the European Training and Mobility Network UltraSonoSep: Acoustic bio-cell filters; Ultrasonic emulsion splitting (http://www.iap.tuwien.ac.at/www/euss); Therapeutic and diagnostic ultrasound; Sonothrombolysis; Sonoporation.
