Aim of course

Basic introduction to dislocation theory and the importance of dislocations for the physical properties of solids

Subject of course

Burgers circuit/ dislocation glide and climb processes/ elastic continuum theory of dislocations/ energy and line tension / dislocation interactions and reactions/ grain boundary dislocations/ epitaxy and misfit dislocations / dislocations in selected structures / core models/ elastic, plastic and electronic properties of / dislocation generation and crystal growth / analysis techniques (TEM, X-ray topography)

Additional information

some basic knowledge of solid state physics would be useful possibly as block
