Magnetic domains and micromagnetics Contribution to the free energy, Domain walls, Magnetic domain structure, Single-domain and multi-domain particles, Domain wall pinnig, Magnetization processes 3. Permanent magnets Calculation of magnetic circuits, Characteristic parameters, Composition and microstructure, Rare earth permanent magnets, Powdermetallurgical preparation, Applications 4. Magnetic recording Magnetic tapes and disks, Composition and microstructure, Longitudinal and perpendicular recording, Magneto-optical recording, Bubble domains, Future aspects 5. Ferrimagnetic materials Spinel ferrites, Hexagonal ferrites, Orthoferrites, Rare earth garnets 6. Softmagnetic materials Edddy currents, Magnetization reversal losses, Composition and microstructure, Applications 7. Magnetoelasticity
