Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to are in postion to reproduce the  contnts as outlined in detail in the english version of "Lehrinhalte" in written as well as oral form. Moreover the students will be able to apply the basic concepts of  Advanced Atomic Theory to simple examples.

Subject of course

Recent developments in atomic theory, in particular of ab initio methods for the calculation of atomic structure and correlation effects. Atoms in external fields, atomic scattering processes, theory of atomic traps, Bose Einstein condensation in the gas phase.
