Aim of course

The goal of these lectures is to give an overview over recent developments in atomic physics. The material of this course can be considered to be the equivalent of a course of advanced quantum theory with applications.

Subject of course

Recent developments in atomic theory, in particular of ab initio methods for the calculation of atomic structure and correlation effects. Atoms in external fields, atomic scattering processes, theory of atomic traps, Bose Einstein condensation in the gas phase.
