After successful completion of the course, students are able to orient within the study of technical physics, to overview which lectures are most relevant and decide how to best prepare for the first semester.

This orientation course provides information about studying technical physics as well as the lecture Fundamentals of Physics and its accompanying exercises. Some aspects of mechanics will be presented in lectures and based on exercises. At the end, there will be a self-assessment test to be completed online. This test only serves to provide an overview for you and the teachers and will not be graded.

Das Zeugnis (Note “Mit Erfolg teilgenommen”) für die VU 130.005 Einführung in das Physikstudium erhalten Sie im Regelfall nach Teilnahme am Self-Assessment-Test im Rahmen dieser LVA. Sollten Sie kein solches Zeugnis besitzen (z.B. wegen Nicht-Teilnahme am Self-Assessment-Test), so können Sie nach positiver Absolvierung der VU 130.001 Grundlagen der Physik Ia oder der VU 130.003 Grundlagen der Physik IIa ein Zeugnis über die VU 130.005 Einführung in das Physikstudium beantragen. (Die Ausstellung erfolgt in diesem Fall nicht automatisch.) Kontaktieren Sie dazu bitte den Vortragenden der entsprechenden Lehrveranstaltung im Zuge der Prüfungsablegung oder per eMail.
For your participation a registration in TISS is required! The registration for all lectures of the first semester (VU Introduction to Physics, VU Fundamentals of Physics Ia (Ib), UE Analysis I for TPH, UE Linear Algebra for TPH, VU Practical Mathematics I for TPH) is done together by registering for one of the groups of the course 130.001 Fundamentals of Physics Ia in TISS https://tiss.tuwien.ac.at/education/course/groupList.xhtml?dswid=8258&dsrid=415&courseNr=130001&semester=2022W. Please register there for one of the 12 exercise groups (under Groups) (not only for the LVA itself). If you are on a waiting list for an exercise group, you will be automatically assigned to this or another group.**CAUTION**: Registration is only possible until 11.10.2022 (23:59)! For organizational reasons, no late registrations are possible!Repetitors who only want to attend certain LVAs of the first semester should register themselves at the respective LVA and additionally (!) contact the respective LVA leader.
