After successful completion of the course, students are able to orient within the study of technical physics, to overview which lectures are most relevant and decide how to best prepare for the first semester.

This orientation course provides information about studying technical physics as well as the lecture Fundamentals of Physics and its accompanying exercises. Some aspects of mechanics will be presented in lectures and based on exercises. At the end, there will be a self-assessment test to be completed online. This test only serves to provide an overview for you and the teachers and will not be graded.
The winter semester 2021/22 will start in hybrid mode. This means that courses will be held both in person and in a distance learning format. Each week, one third of the students will attend the course in the lecture hall (Freihaus HS5) while the rest will follow the course via a live Zoom-Meeting. The accompanying exercises will be held in small groups in seminar rooms - again with 1/3 attending the course in person and the rest via Zoom.
For this course, a registration in TISS is required.

Das Zeugnis (Note “Mit Erfolg teilgenommen”) für die VU 130.005 Einführung in das Physikstudium erhalten Sie im Regelfall nach Teilnahme am Self-Assessment-Test im Rahmen dieser LVA. Sollten Sie kein solches Zeugnis besitzen (z.B. wegen Nicht-Teilnahme am Self-Assessment-Test), so können Sie nach positiver Absolvierung der VU 130.001 Grundlagen der Physik Ia oder der VU 130.003 Grundlagen der Physik IIa ein Zeugnis über die VU 130.005 Einführung in das Physikstudium beantragen. (Die Ausstellung erfolgt in diesem Fall nicht automatisch.) Kontaktieren Sie dazu bitte den Vortragenden der entsprechenden Lehrveranstaltung im Zuge der Prüfungsablegung oder per eMail.
To register for this course sign up in the group "Anmeldung Einführung". After the sign-up period you will be distributed across smaller groups and cohorts.
