After successful completion of the course, students are able to comprehend the materials presented in the lecture and to draw conclusions from them, as well as to actively communicate the contents presented during the lecture.
Electromagnetic waves in matter; geometrical optics; interference and diffraction; optical instruments
Presentation of the lecture content and discussion. In addition, there are lecture room experiments to support the theoretical concepts. Once a week there are practical numerical exercises ("Übungen") in groups under the supervision of tutors and heads of groups

50% exercises (tests, black-board presentations, number of crossed problems)
50% exam concerning the lecture (can be done only after positive finishing of the exercises)
