After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand and implement basic concepts of calibration of space-continuous measuring sensors like laser trackers and terrestrial laser scanners. Furthermore, they are able to approximate regular geometries (quadrics) and free-form geometries (especially splines and B-splines) on the basis of point clouds using own written programs. The handling of space-continuous geometry in information systems (special focus on BIM) will be excercised with practical examples and presented in a practice-oriented manner.
