Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to calculate important parameters of the Earth gravity field and of theoretical equilibrium figures and to work with time variable gravity fields from satellite observations and derive relevant quantities from these data sets.

Subject of course

Calculation and interpolation of functionals of he disturbing gravity potential (geoid undulation, gravity anomalý, deflecion of the vetical).based on field measurements of global Earth gravity models.Calculation of gravity field corrections to geodetic measurements. Reference Ellipsoid.

Use of data from satelite gravity missions (e.g. GRACE.GOCE).

Teaching methods

Joint development of practical examples during the exercise, independent elaboration of exercises with respective instructions.
