Basic knowledge concerning the definition of Coordinate Systems commonly used in Geodesy. How to transform coordinates between the various systems is also a major topic in this lecture.

The lecture deals with plane, 2D+Height and real 3D-Coordinate Systems commonly used in Geodesy. Transformation algorithms between these cartesian, spherical and plane coordinates as well as simple map projections are major topics. Finally the hierarchy of coordinate systems (global,regional,local) will be discussed intensively.
