This course is in all assigned curricula part of the STEOP.
This course is in at least 1 assigned curriculum part of the STEOP.

2022S, VO, 2.0h, 3.0EC

Properties

  • Semester hours: 2.0
  • Credits: 3.0
  • Type: VO Lecture
  • Format: Hybrid

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to interpret

the functionals of the Earth gravity field (deflections of the vertical, geoid undulation, gravity anomaly),

to set up local and regionals gravity field studies and to understand the physical background of our height systems.

Subject of course

Reference Systems,Equilibrium Figures, Tides,

Geopotential Models,Recent Satellite 'Gravity Missions', Earth  Reference Model

Teaching methods

The learning contents to be discussed in the course are provided in the associated lecture notes.

Mode of examination

Oral

Additional information

In SS 2022 this lecture will be provided in presence.

The first lecture is therefore scheduled for March 9th, 9.15h in SEM DA grün, 02B

In case of increasing Corona infections and political advice the lecture modus might be changed to online during the semester.
