  • Understand which basic data models are used in geographic information science.
  • Understand what a geographic information system is and what it can be used for.
  • Perform basic vector operations in a GIS.
  • Perform basic raster operations in a GIS.
  • Perform basic network operations in a GIS.

Subject of course

Solving simple problems with raster- and vector-GIS by using the free GIS software QGIS.
