After successful completion of the course, students are able to... … apply previously acquired cartographic skills and knowledge … independently plan and implement a cartographic project … produce a high-quality cartographic product
This course accompanies you in producing a well-designed map for a self-defined topic: From planning the product, acquiring the data, to implementation and checking the usability.
The class gives a timeframe to implement a cartographic project. This process is supported by: # short tutorials # written reports # presentation & group feedback sessions
Please note the course type “project”: Projects allow you to apply previously acquired knowledge to achieve a comprehensive larger task. There are no lectures or exercises.
We recommend creating an analog map product (paper, 3d-print, wood-cutting, ...). You should already be familiar with the technology you need to implement your project – or you should be willing to learn it on your own.
After the introduction session, important news will be distributed through TUWEL. Also reports are submitted through TUWEL. Make sure you have access. In case of problems or questions, please contact the lecturer in time.
