After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the main principles of cartographic modelling and geovisualisation. They can analyse the impact of scale, perception and graphics on the function of maps as well learn the constraints and options in using maps and making maps.
Aim of Cartography, Functions of maps, Maps as artifacts, Maps as services, Determining aspects of cartographic modeling (projections, scale, perception, graphical variables, design, context), map use, topographic maps, thematic maps, Multimedia cartography; Geodatainfrastructure; Semiotics
