Aim of course

Introduction to interactive cartographic applicationss (methods and technical realization). Main focus on the internet (WebMapping), with emphasis on realizing interactions and cartographic map modelling of interactive information systems. Concept and realization of interactive maps will be proofed with practical work. Server-based cartographic applications will be stressed.

Subject of course

- Introduction in Cartographic WebPublishing and realization of an cartographic application (system) on the WWW including the following topics: 1. Cartographic information transport and the role of interactivity 2. Cartographic tour d horizont (WWW) 3. Installing a cartographic workstation 4. Basic tools for WebPublishing: HTML 5. Vector-based WebPublishing 6. XML and SVG 7. Interactivity and animation (SVG) 8. Concept an realization of an interactive cartographic web-application
