After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

• explain approaches to modelling, determining and visualising the quality of spatial data,
• criticise concepts of data quality and
• evaluate scientific literature on the quality of spatial data.

GIS have an increasing need for data quality aspects. The lecture provides an introduction to the definition of data quality and shows some aspects of data quality using research papers and discussions.

Reading of technical literature, discussion about the limits of the described approaches, problems with the practical realization and open questions

In winter term 2023/24 the lectures will be held in presence.

Upon prior notice, individual sessions can be held in distance learning mode if required by the circumstances.
