The students should get to know the most important techniques and products of photogrammety and laser scanning by working out practical examples connected to the lecture "Photogrammety" (122.429). Besides, the theoretic foundations of these practical examples are examined by two tests. The excursion to the surveying department of the Municipality of Vienna (MA 41) should give an insight into the photogrammetric practice to the students.
Stereoscopic viewing and measurement, as well as plotting using a digital photogrammetric work station. Solve a mathematical problem dealing with perspective transformation. Aerotriangulation using a digital photogrammetric work station and evaluation of results. Generation of a digital terrain model and an orthophoto. Orientation of terrestrial laser scans. One excursion to the surveying department of the Municipality of Vienna (MA 41).
Lecture notes will be given during the lessons. Further information: Karl Kraus, Photogrammetry: Geometry from Images and Laser Scans (de Gruyter - 2007) Thomas Luhmann, Close Range Photogrammetry: Principles, Techniques and Applications (John Wiley & Sons Inc - 2006, 2007)
