After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

• Understand basic concepts of encoding text, data, documents and media content on the web
• Integrate multimedia content into web maps
• Select suitable external resources
• Apply the basics of interactive and responsive web maps

Important: it is recommended to take this course only in conjunction with the course "Web Mapping" (127.045) in the same semester!

For the summer term of 2024, the course starts with the intro lecture on WEDNESDAY, 13.3. 14:00, the first regular lecture is on 14.3., 14:00.

• Multimedia components: media types, formats and their properties
• Legal aspects of media applications (Copyright, Licenses)
• Responsive and mobile cartography
• Animation, Interaction, Usability Studies

Please have a look at "Show single appointments" in TISS because lectures do not take place every single week.

• Theoretical lectures
• Discussion of case studies
• Individual assignments
• Group project and final presentation session
• Group supervision during the semester

• 3 assignments to work on individually
• Group project: Design and implementation of an online mapping project (joined with the course "Web Mapping")

Please note that all hand-ins have to be on time. A repetition of individual assignments is not possible! (No single assignment has to be completed with a positive grade in order to get a positive grade for the entire course.)

If you do not take the course "Web Mapping" (127.045) in the same semester, basic web development knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is assumed for this course!
